We have just
been so lucky with the weather for all our rides this year and Sunday
was no exception. Ten of us met in Montgomery Square in warm
sunshine. Shorts and T shirts were on show for some (for the last
time this year?).

Summer, anyone? |
Then a beautiful, if a little hilly, ride through
the Welsh autumn countryside to cross the River Severn near Garthmyl
then winding our way up to Betws Cedewain and Tregynon with the final
ride up the long driveway to the magnificent black and white Gregynog
Hall set in its manicured gardens and extensive wooded grounds.
The
cafe is in the stables surrounding a sheltered courtyard and a good
lunch was enjoyed by all. The group then split up with Paul and
Maxine continuing to Machynlleth whilst the others made their way
down the Rhiw valley to Berriew - a superb, long, gentle descent -
and finally back to Montgomery and beyond.
